Rarely played compositions, from Wayne Shorter’s “Pay as you go“ till Isla Eckinger’s “A Moment in Montreux“, organically embed themselves in a melodic and versatile repertoire. The unsophisticated, unsought and rhythmically direct expression of their play lets the orchestral and harmonic tradition to emerge, leaving enough space to fill with improvisation.
