Four high-profile musicians spontaneously met for a concert in Bird`s Eye Jazz Club in Basel. Although they have played together in different formations and combinations, they have never played together in the same band. The glittering premiere was thrilling evidence that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. The band formed around saxophonist Andy Scherrer developed a repertoire to produce an album on the occasion of the seventieth birthday of the bandleader. It includes his own compositions as well as tunes from Clifford Jordan and Cedar Walton.
